With score values, you can assign a numeric value to each option in a Radio or Dropdown field to make easy calculations.

For example, if you have a survey and want a quick way to gauge the value of the survey, you can assign a number to each response option and then add all the response options together to get a total. Let's take an employee review app as an example:

In our employee review app, the interviewer needs to rate the employees based on 5 questions, each question with 3 possible radio response options Each question would be structured like this:

A) Exceeds Expectations
B) Meets Expectations
C) Improvement Needed

On the front-end of the app, the question will look like this:

To get a total of all the questions, we'll assign a numeric value to each response option. To do that, go to the builder, select the response option field you wish to assign values to, and enable the "Assign Score Value" option. Give each option a numeric value:

To use these numbers in a calculation you must add a Basic Formula field. In this example, we have 4 questions which can total to 100 at most. The questions are:

  1. Productivity
  2. Job Knowledge
  3. Relationship
  4. Cooperation

We'll add a new Basic Formula field called Total Score and add all the fields together to get the total

Done! Here's how it will look in the app:

Please note: the colors for each response option were assigned separately using color badges. See this link for instructions on how to assign Color Badges.
