There are 2 ways you can enable editing records:
1. You can edit a record by adding an Edit Link within the component that displays the record
2. You can add a form within the details page of the record that will edit the record
1. Adding an edit link to a component:
First, in the builder, find the component that displays the record you'd like to enable editing for. Click on the component to edit it. Click on Links in the left navigation bar and select Edit Link to add a link to edit and click Save.
Now, on the front end of your app, you'll see a new edit link. Clicking on it will bring you to a child page where you can edit the record.
To customize this edit page, back in the builder you'll notice that a new page was added called: Edit Customers Page
Click on this new page and you'll notice a new Edit Customers Form. You can click on this new form to edit the fields and rules for what happens when you edit the record:
*Please keep in mind that each time you add an edit link inside a component, a new edit page will appear.
2. You can also edit a record by adding a form within the details page of the record that will edit the record.
For instance, if you'd like to add the ability to edit a customer's details, you can add a form within the customer's details page that will edit the record.
To do this, open the page where you'd like the edit form to appear. Add a new form component and be sure to select "Update this page's Customer". This will add a new form so you can edit the customer's details directly within the page:
